Continue Your Journey of Growth and Devotion 🌙✨
As-Salamu Alaikum, Beloved Minara Community,
As we step forward from the blessed month of Ramadan, it’s essential to keep the momentum of good habits and spiritual gains. This edition of our newsletter is dedicated to helping you continue the practices that brought you closer to Allah during Ramadan, and to maintaining those spiritual highs throughout the year.
Keeping Up with Ramadan Goals and Habits 🌙
Post-Ramadan Continuity: Fasting, Sadaqah, and Tahajjud
The end of Ramadan doesn't mean the end of the spiritual practices that enriched our lives. Here are some ways to keep the spirit alive:
1. Voluntary Fasts: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recommended fasting six days in Shawwal, and regularly on Mondays and Thursdays. Continuing these fasts can help maintain the discipline and purification experienced during Ramadan.
2. Continued Charity: Keep the flow of Sadaqah going to maintain barakah in your finances and help those in need. Regular charitable giving keeps our hearts soft and our communities strong.
3. Tahajjud Prayers: The night prayers brought peace and contemplation during Ramadan. Continue to give life to your nights with Tahajjud to feel connected and gain spiritual benefits throughout the year
Prayer Tip of the Week: Perspective About Salah
Understanding Your Relationship with Prayer
One of the challenges in maintaining a consistent Salah routine is understanding our relationship with prayer. Reflecting on what keeps us from prayer can open doors to a deeper connection with this fundamental practice.
Reflective Insights:
🤲🏼 Go Beyond the Surface: Consider the deeper reasons behind difficulties in keeping up with Salah. Is it a lack of understanding of its importance? A feeling of monotony or obligation without meaning?
🪟 Reframe Your View: Prayer is not just an obligation but a privilege. It’s a private conversation with Allah, a break from the world’s chaos to reconnect with your Creator.
🌿 Seek Meaning: Delve into the meanings behind the words you recite, the movements you make, and the times you pray. Understanding these can transform your Salah from a routine to a profound spiritual practice.
❤️ Build Intimacy: Approach Salah with the intention to build closeness to Allah. Let each prayer be a step towards Him, filled with intention and awareness.
