Unlock the Power of Prayer - featuring Daanish.Medic for Fajr Challenge
Find calm, peace, comfort and strength
Asalamu Alaykum Minara Friends!
Embrace the New Week with Salah: Where Devotion, Forgiveness, and Blessings Converge.
You’ve probably heard the phrase, "Prayer is the key to success," and maybe wondered what it meant.
It’s about all the ripple effects Salah can have in your life that we don’t talk about enough. So, this week, we dive into a few.
Here’s what’s in this week's newsletter release:
📌 The transformative impact of Salah through consistency
📌 Prayer as a source of strength and resilience in difficult times
📌 Fajr, the first victory of the day
The Transformative Impact of Salah Through Consistency

Many of us are coming to the realization that praying isn’t about performing the movements or reciting the right words each time.
It’s an act and journey of love, requiring us to open our hearts and focus our minds towards Allah.
Five times a day, we’re given the opportunity to cross a bridge of connection, a bridge that can:
Bring calm to a distraught heart, soothing inner turmoil and offering solace in times of distress;
Bring peace to a racing mind, anchoring our thoughts into tranquility and mindfulness;
Bring comfort to our souls, especially in moments of loneliness and sorrow, reminding us of the omnipresence of God.
Bring strength to our resolve when we are shaken and feel weak or overwhelmed by the challenges of life.
When we go into prayer, even in the shortest of them, Fajr, we find four opportunities where we are closest to Allah to make dua. In this special moment, we are fully heard - our words, our emotions, our silent pleas. Nothing is ignored or misunderstood. What a magical and profound connection this is.
Let’s remind ourselves of this beautiful aspect of Salah. In our next prayer, let’s stay in sujood a little longer, cherishing the moment, letting in the calm, the peace, the comfort and the strength.
Prayer as a source of strength and resilience in difficult times
Life is filled with contrasts, moments of joy and sadness, triumphs and trials, beginnings and endings. This ebb and flow of experiences makes prayer a pillar of strength, a continuous lifeline to build resilience, and the ability to see the moments for what they are: fleeting and never permanent.
In these times, we can find solace and guidance in the words of the Quran: "Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear..." (Quran 2:286). This verse reminds us that no matter the weight of our trials, we are never given more than we can handle. It encourages us to find strength in our faith, knowing that every challenge is within our capacity to overcome with Allah's help.
Moreover, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us a powerful dua for seeking strength and resilience:
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by (other) men." (Sahih Bukhari).
This prayer is a humble request for protection against the trials of life and for the strength to face them with courage and grace.
In embracing prayer, we acknowledge our human vulnerabilities while also tapping into the Divine source of strength. It is in this sacred conversation with Allah that we find the resilience to navigate life's complexities, drawing from an unending well of spiritual fortitude.
Fajr, the first victory of the day
We’ve just completed week 1 of our 30-Day Fajr Challenge, alhamdulillah.
I’ll be honest; maintaining consistency with Fajr has been a longtime struggle for me, but I never feel better than when I manage it. Hence, the challenge! This week has been positive overall. I missed it only once, and I am hopeful that it will be the only day I miss. Going for 29 out of 30, insha’Allah, and then establishing a newly founded relationship with a prayer that has such a significant impact on the quality of my day.
It’s not too late to join if you haven’t already. Your 30-Day Fajr journey can start anytime. You can also join our group on the Geneva app (it’s free and hosts so many helpful groups), where Minara (and me) will be your Fajr buddies. We share our progress with the challenge, remind each other to set the alarms, and give that little boost of encouragement needed to keep going and not get discouraged by the bumps.
Daanish Medic is championing the challenge and recently posted about it. He explains it really well. Check it out for yourself and share this email with a friend who would like to join.
With prayer and duaas
